Neuroscience is a vast and rapidly advancing field, but it's often organized into highly specialized silos - molecular, systems, computational, behavioral, cognitive, clinical, and more. While specialization has led to tremendous progress, it may also be limiting our ability to tackle the most complex questions about the brain.
What are some effective strategies or examples you’ve seen that foster true interdisciplinary collaboration in neuroscience?
Please share your thoughts, experiences, and suggestions. You might consider these questions as a starting point, but don’t hesitate to bring your own angle or story into the mix:
- Are there successful models of cross-disciplinary teams or labs?
- What challenges have you faced in collaborative efforts?
- How can early-career researchers prepare to work across disciplines?
