Lidia Alonso-Nanclares, PhD
Alonso-Nanclares is an assistant researcher in the Cajal Laboratory of Cortical Circuits in the Center for Biomedical Technology, at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, in Spain, and the Cajal Institute (CSIC).
Her main interest lies in the microanatomical study of the cerebral cortex and its alterations in different pathological conditions. She is an expert in neuroanatomy specializing in optical and electron microscopy, with her research focusing on the microanatomical analysis of the brain in normal and pathological conditions, using high-resolution neuroanatomical techniques. Moreover, she is one of the few scientists with expertise working with the electronic dual-beam microscope (FIB/SEM), which allows three-dimensional ultrastructural study of brain tissue.
