Jun-Ming Zhang, PhD
Jun-Ming Zhang is a professor and vice chair for research in the department of anesthesiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He started doing basic research about pain while completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University. His laboratory focuses primarily on peripheral mechanisms of pain and has made contributions to understanding the role of the sympathetic system and immune responses in pain (for example, low back pain and neuropathic pain) and the role of spontaneous activity in sensory neurons. His lab has recently started translational human research studies based on his previous preclinical work.
