Csaba Cserép, MD, PhD

Csaba Cserép is a postdoc at the Institute of Experimental Medicine at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in the department of molecular and developmental neuroscience in the group of neuroimmunology led by Ádám Dénes. The laboratory uses a wide methodological repertoire to study several physiological and pathophysiological processes on the border of neuroscience and immunology, with a clear focus on microglia and inflammation. The major focus is the investigation of microglia-neuron interactions in health and disease. The performance coupling between mitochondria and synapses was discovered during the optimization of the high-resolution electron-tomography method.
