Jean-François Bouchard, PhD

Jean-François Bouchard is a professor at the University of Montreal’s School of Optometry. His laboratory studies the molecular basis of axon guidance, synaptogenesis, and plasticity. His research interest focuses on the development of new therapeutic strategies aiming at the treatment of post-traumatic or inherited neurovisual pathologies. In order to reach this goal, his research team combines the strengths of molecular and cellular neurobiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, microscopy, and electrophysiology.
