Jasmine Pathan
Jasmine Pathan (@jasmino_acid; she/her) completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle. Pathan’s doctoral research at the City University of New York, Graduate Center focuses on improving motor function after a spinal cord injury by modulating neuronal electrical activity to prevent damage by immune cells to still-viable neurons. As a New York Academy of Sciences program mentor, Pathan guides international student teams in project-based challenges related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Academy’s January 2023 program newsletter recognized Jasmine as Mentor of the Month for her mentorship to the winning team of Fall 2022.
