Daisy Gallardo is a Mexican/Salvadoran third-year PhD candidate in Oswald Steward’s lab at the University of California, Irvine. She is researching the progression of neurodegeneration in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s Disease. Specifically, she is investigating neuroprotective mechanisms that may reduce or delay neurodegeneration.

Tiffany Bartel is a PhD candidate at Cleveland State University, Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She received her bachelor's degree in biology and neuroscience from Baldwin Wallace University. Bartel’s research focus is on cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) and drug-resistant epilepsies.

Sergiy Yakovenko, PhD, is an associate professor at West Virginia University, where his lab studies the neuromechanical principles of motor control using experimental and computational approaches. Yakovenko received a BS in biophysics from the School of Radiophysics at Kharkiv National University in Ukraine and his PhD in neuroscience at the University of Alberta in Canada under the mentorship of Arthur Prochazka.
