This interview series highlights the career paths and scientific accomplishments of women at the forefront of historically male-dominated fields including neuroscience, engineering, and technology. Many of these fields are increasingly intertwining and becoming relevant to the advancement of our collective scientific knowledge. Sriram Jayabal is a fifth year PhD student in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience at McGill University, working in the Watt lab.

Upinder Bhalla is a professor at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, TIFR Bangalore, where he uses experimental and computational approaches to study learning and behavior. He has combined experimental and computer modeling to study brain function throughout his research career and is currently looking at the interplay between chemical and electrical signaling in hippocampal plasticity and learning of sequences.
