    Katrin Franke Receives Nemko Prize in Cellular or Molecular Neuroscience
    The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will award the Nemko Prize in Cellular or Molecular Neuroscience to Katrin Franke, PhD, junior research group leader at the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) and the Institute for Ophthalmic Research, both at Tübingen University, in Germany.

    Takashi Kitamura and Laura Lewis to Receive Gruber International Research Award
    The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) has named Takashi Kitamura, assistant professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Laura Lewis, junior fellow at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital as co-recipients of the Peter and Patricia Gruber International Research Award.

    Vivek Jayaraman Receives Young Investigator Award
    The Society for Neuroscience will present the Young Investigator Award to Vivek Jayaraman, PhD, of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus, at Neuroscience 2017, SfN’s annual meeting and the world’s largest source of emerging news about brain science and health. Supported by Sunovion, the $15,000 award recognizes the outstanding achievements and contributions of a young neuroscientist who received his or her advanced professional degree within the past 10 years.

    Xiao-Jing Wang Receives Swartz Prize for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience
    Xiao-Jing Wang, global professor of neural science and co-director of the Swartz Center for Theoretical Neuroscience at New York University, will be honored with the Swartz Prize for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience. Supported by The Swartz Foundation, the $25,000 prize is presented to an individual who has made a cumulative contribution to theoretical models or computational methods in neuroscience or who has recently and significantly advanced the field. The award will be presented at Neuroscience 2017, SfN’s annual meeting and the world’s largest source of emerging news about brain science and health.
